Testing at the site of a proposed development of a dwelling house in Cloverhill/Knocknashammer Co. Sligo took place on 15 August 2018. The development is in the vicinity of SL014-214 Barrow and SL014-215 Barrow. Six test trenches were mechanically excavated using a graded bucket 2m wide at the location of the dwelling house, percolation area and access road/driveway of the proposed development.
The stratigraphy consisted of dark brown clayey silt topsoil over an orange boulder clay substrate with frequent stone. No material of an archaeological nature was found during the course of the test trenching.
