An archaeological assessment including testing to the rear of the parochial house in Slane village, Co. Meath was carried out. The house is located in the Village Square on the corner of Drogheda and Church Street . Three test trenches were excavated at the eastern section of the site. The stratigraphy at the site consisted mainly of topsoil overlying mid-brown/yellow silty clay subsoils. There were no finds uncovered in the testing process and the area was sterile and even devoid of modern pottery or debris. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during this course of testing.
