Monitoring was carried out in December 2018 on a site located at Twenties Lane, Moneymore and Yellowbatter, Drogheda, Co. Louth. Only a minor area located within the southernmost extent of the site was monitored.
The sod and topsoil (C1) measured 0.3m to 0.7m in thickness and lay directly above the natural orange sandy clay (C2). No archaeological features or deposits were identified or exposed, and no finds were recovered.
A geophysical survey of the remainder of the site will be undertaken prior to test trenching and/or monitoring of the remainder of the site in due course.
