Archaeological monitoring was carried out in the townland of Cappocksgreen, Ardee, Co. Louth, in connection with an upgrade to the existing Ardee Waste Water Treatment Plan. The site is located just east of Ardee town, which is recorded in the Record of Monuments and Places as an Historic Town (LH017-101)

There were intermittent site visits between October 2017 and December 2018 but the main phase of monitoring was conducted in December 2017 when all ground disturbance associated with the proposed upgrade works at the plant took place. This investigation exposed no archaeological features or deposits. The upgrade works to the Ardee Waste Water Treatment Plant are now complete and no further archaeological monitoring will be required.
