Archaeological assessment (test trenching) was carried out on 27 September 2018 in advance of the construction of a proposed single dwelling at Annaghloughan, Jenkinstown, Co. Louth and in fulfilment of a condition attached to Planning Reference No. 17/403 issued by Louth County Council. The site is located adjacent to LH008-035001 (Ringfort-rath), LH008-035002 (Souterrain) and LH008-035003 (Hut site).
A total of four test trenches were excavated within the site of the proposed development and the proposed driveway was monitored. No evidence of any features or deposits of an archaeological nature were identified and no finds were recovered during this assessment.
