Monitoring at St Mary’s Park housing estate, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick took place in February 2018. The water rehabilitation works were carried out using the open-cut method and for the most part followed the line of existing services. The trenches were machine-excavated using a mini backhoe excavator. The average trench dimensions were 0.42m wide by 1m deep exposing a thin road base below the tarmac over yellow grey natural sandy clay and limestone bedrock. No finds or features archaeological potential were noted throughout the installation works.
