The development site was located in the townlands of Abbeyland and Clane, situated within the Zone of Notification for the historic town of Clane (KD014-026001) and on the southern side of Clane Abbey (KD014-026005) and a modern graveyard (KD014-026012). Test trenching took place on 6 December 2018. A total of four trenches were excavated across the proposed development area, 97 linear metres in total.

Nothing of archaeological significance was identified during archaeological testing and monitoring of tree clearance.
