A test excavation was carried out to assess the archaeological potential of a green-field development site located in the townland of Ballymany, Newbridge, County Kildare. The proposed development will consist of a medium-scale residential development located adjacent to the zone of archaeological potential of a possible church site (KD023-020) and possible mound (KD023-019).
An excavator fitted with a flat grading bucket was used to excavate 21 test trenches across the development site. No features or finds of archaeological significance were identified.
