Test excavation was undertaken as a part of a planning application to construct a single dwelling house at Slievenavadoge, Tralee, Co. Kerry. The proposed development site encompasses ringfort KE028-055. A series of five 1.8m wide test trenches T1–T5, with a total meterage of c.194, was opened across the footprint of the proposed house, accessway and carpark area. Topsoil was an average of 0.3–0.4m in depth in all trenches and comprised good quality brown loam material that overlay natural material of yellow/grey boulder clay throughout. All of the trenches were excavated outside a 20m buffer zone around the extant limits of the ringfort.

Nothing of archaeological interest was found.
