The subject fields were on arable farmland with many modern plough furrows. All test trenches were excavated to the level of natural subsoil, which was composed of mottled orange/tan sandy clays with grey marl patches. Topsoil comprised a dark brown silty clay. Linear agricultural features and several field drains were identified during the trenching works.
No archaeological features were identified.
