Test trenching was carried out on behalf of Galway County Council and funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland in advance of construction of the N59 Maam Cross to Bunnakill Road Project. Stage (i)c Test Excavations in Wetland took place in several targeted areas along the route of the proposed development. No previously known or unknown sites were identified during the test trenching and no further archaeological work is recommended
