A number of discrete features including possible pits, postholes and stakeholes, as well as linear and curvilinear features were identified in plot LE05 during topsoil stripping associated with the Advanced Works (Archaeological Licence no. AE/17/169) for the Gas to the West project. The features appear to represent a settlement site of unknown date. No artefacts to aid in dating the site were identified during the site investigations. The site was cleaned by hand, photographed and planned. A selection of archaeological features across the site were investigated, photographed, drawn and sampled. This site has been preserved in situ. Post-excavation works associated with the site investigations are ongoing.
