An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a Holiday Resort on Inish Dacharne, Killadeas.
Two test trenches were excavated along the foundations of one of the proposed chalets. The trenches were excavated by mechanical digger fitted with a toothless bucket. Both test trenches were identical stratigraphically and consisted of a topsoil layer directly overlying subsoil. The topsoil displayed significant levels of root disturbance.
No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation.
