This report studies the impact, if any, on the archaeological and historical resource of a site that is located within the townland of Clonard or Folkstown Great and Stephenstown, Balbriggan, County Dublin. The current work represents the completion of an assessment which commenced in October 2017 in the south-east portion of the lands that was unavailable at that time due to dense scrub. The current phase of testing was carried out in October 2018.

The first phase identified three potential archaeological areas to the north and northeast consisting of pits and post-holes, along with two possible kilns (Licence 17E0464).

Monitoring of groundworks for the Stephenstown Link Road was carried out between the two testing phases, taking place between late February and early May 2018. This phase of works identified two sites of archaeological potential within the road corridor. These sites comprised two small shallow pits and a single large pit containing prehistoric pottery sherds as well as flint and chert.

The latest phase of test trenching was carried out at the site between 4 and 8 October 2018 in an area recently cleared of dense scrub and bushes. This final phase consisted of twelve test trenches within which were several agricultural features and a single possible archaeological sub-circular pit. (Whitaker 2021).
