This site was identified during pre-development assessment (17E0630) in advance of a residential development. The archaeological features at Corballis 10 were distributed across two cuttings. Area A measured 20m x 20m. Area B measured 30m x 50m.
Eight pits were identified across Area A. These contained trace amounts of charcoal and occasional animal bone fragments. Notable among these pits was F13, which contained an annular blue glass bead. The bead was stylistically undiagnostic.
Several features were spread across Area B. At the centre of the area was a ring of 7 post-holes (F39, F41, F43, F45, F47, F55 and F57) approximately 4m in diameter. They were of uniform size, shape and depth, generally circular <0.2m diameter and <0.25m deep. There was no evidence for packing. These were probably internal roof supports. Pits F49, F51, F53 and F73 on the east side were a likely entrance. There was no associated artefacts. Occasional charcoal was recovered. A second cluster of features 10m north-east of this structure consisted of four pits (F63, F65, F67 and F69) and two post-holes which may mark the presence of a second structure, but with only two post-holes surviving.
