Development involved construction of three detached houses with vehicular access from Clonee Road, landscaping, boundary treatment works and all associated site development works. The development area measured 0.261ha.
In all areas of land take monitoring revealed a concrete and tarmac layer sealing topsoil, which in turn sealed undisturbed natural geology.
Some existing underground ducts and services were identified in the foundation trenches. It is suggested these services related to a former ESB substation on the site and were left in situ. Construction and industrial refuse was identified in the topsoil in the north-east corner of the site. This material was 20th century in date, and may be related to construction of the nearby housing estate.
No archaeological features or artefacts were revealed as a result of carrying out the monitoring.
