Monitoring was undertaken of groundworks associated with a residential development located Taylorsgrange, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14. The programme of works was carried out in response to planning conditions attached to the development by An Bord Pleanála (Planning Ref.: PL06D.249163).
The River Dargle flows c. 40m east of the site and the M50 motorway runs c. 200m to the north. There are no recorded monuments within the development area; however a portal tomb known as “Brehon’s Chair” is located c. 100m north of the development (DU022-033) and a holy well is located c. 120m north-west of the site (DU022-032).
