Archaeological monitoring of proposed deepening and lateral extension to the existing Hilltown Quarry, Leode Road, Hilltown, Newry, Co. Down was carried out in November 2018.

Monitoring of test trenching revealed that topsoil overlay a mixed orange/brown glacial till across the area of proposed deepening and lateral extension. No archaeological features were identified during the course of the monitoring.
