Archaeological monitoring for the proposed development of former Town Hall, 24 High Street, Donaghadee, was carried out in November 2018. Monitoring of foundation trenches and ground level reduction to accommodate a car park was undertaken. This revealed that the topsoil overlay light yellow/orange sand across the areas of foundation trenches and ground level reduction for the car park. No archaeological features were identified during the course of monitoring. As such it is recommended that no further archaeological works are required in relation to the proposed development.
