Monitoring of topsoil stripping was carried out on the site of a proposed single dwelling development at 65m north-east of 26 Aughnaloopy Road, Kilkeel in response to planning conditions imposed upon the development in accordance with Planning Policy Guidelines PPS6 BH4 with specific reference to monument DOW55:016 located adjacent to the western boundary of the proposed development.

Monitoring of topsoil stripping did not identify any sub-surface archaeological remains and it is therefore recommended that the development proceed with no further archaeological requirement.
