Archaeological monitoring of dredging works were undertaken in association with Killybegs Harbour Improvement Works, (Phase 1) at Smooth Point, Killybegs Harbour, Co. Donegal. 151 objects  were recovered, the majority of which relate to modern shipping debris including synthetic rope, wires, and chains.

Four anchors were lifted; three modern A.P. anchors and an 19th century iron stock anchor. Seven isolated timbers were recovered; T002 is a piece of pilling and T003 is an un-worked machine cut timber, T004/005/006 are external hull planks and T007  is a large oak frame with hexagonal treenails. A coherent keel section of a boat with composite construction of iron keel, lead ballast, and wooden hull planks and internal frames was also recovered.
