Monitoring took place of topsoil removal and minor investigation of a linear feature (F9) exposed on a development site at Curragh, Kanturk, Co. Cork. Condition No. 17 of the grant of planning permission requested that the feature (F9) be investigated in order to establish the nature and date of same. The manual investigation determined that the feature was shallow, measuring 0.42m in depth, and contained crockery dating to the 19th century or later. The most of the linear feature extended outside the footprint of the house. It is likely to represent a shallow boundary of agricultural and historic origin. No other features were exposed within the site.
