Archaeological testing of a proposed development at Lackabane townland, Donoughmore, Co. Cork was undertaken on foot of a request for further information. The testing was carried out on 23-24 July 2018 in good, dry weather conditions. The proposed development consists of the construction of 5 houses, and associated site works. The area tested included the house sites, the proposed storm-water pipeline and the associated attenuation tank. Historic boundaries (indicated on the 1st edition OS mapping) were uncovered in Trenches 10-12 and Trench 18. Natural was exposed at the base of all test trenches and no archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered.
