Nine trenches were mechanically excavated across the greenfield portion of a proposed residential development site. A small sub-circular pit c. 1m diameter was identified and partially investigated. Two sherds of prehistoric pottery were found. The pit was covered and backfilled. No associated features were revealed. It is proposed to fully excavate the pit if development proceeds.
