Two phases of testing were carried out across two adjoining fields following geophysical survey. A total of twenty-three trenches were excavated. A spread of burnt mound material was revealed measuring 8m north-south by 3.5m. Its eastern extent was not determined as it extended into a field boundary adjoining a stream along the eastern site boundary. It is proposed to preserve the burnt spread in situ within a buffer zone.
