A second phase of testing was carried out in a field adjacent to an ecclesiastical enclosure, where it is proposed to develop a new graveyard to replace the existing graveyard within the enclosure. Previous testing immediately outside the enclosure boundary discovered two external ditches around it. It was decided to relocate the proposed new graveyard further north – this area was tested in July 2018.
Five trenches were excavated. A small number of shallow linear features were discovered. These are interpreted as relatively modern cultivation furrows and are not regarded as being archaeologically significant.
