A programme of test trenching was carried out at the site of a proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant at Dromkeen, Inishannon, Co. Cork. Test trenching was recommended in an Archaeological Impact Assessment carried out in 2009 (Jones 2009).
Six test trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant in February 2018. A site investigation trench was also monitored on the northern side of the River Bandon, adjacent to a church and graveyard, both recorded monuments. Nothing of archaeological significance was found during the course of the works.
