Monitoring between structures 39 and 87 continued in 2018.
An Bord Pleanala granted permission to EirGrid for the construction of a 110kV overhead line (OHL) from the existing Clashavoon substation, which is located north-east of Macroom, to the existing Dunmanway electricity substation, which is located on the outskirts of Dunmanway. Tobar Archaeological Services were engaged by ESB Networks to monitor ground works associated with structure numbers AM (angle mast) 39 to AM 87. Monitoring along the overhead line commenced in 2016 (Excavations Bulletin No 2016:676) and continued into 2017 (Excavations Bulletin No. 2017:372). No archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered.
