Monitoring was undertaken in advance of a proposed milking complex at Finnor More (Finuremore), Mullagh, Co. Clare. This followed recommendations made in an archaeological assessment undertaken in compliance with a request for further information from Clare County Council in response to the client’s planning application for the development (Planning Ref. P17/145).
The development area is situated within a farm premises. There are a number of recorded monuments in the vicinity including a ring barrow (CL038-034), house (CL038-034002) and ringfort (CL038-035).
Monitoring of groundworks within the footprint of the proposed development was undertaken in September 2018. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered and no further archaeological mitigation is proposed for this development.
