An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a new multi-franchise car showroom on lands opposite 132 Armagh Road, Newry.

Monitoring took place of topsoil removal using a back-acting machine fitted with a toothless bucket in the area to the west of the railway cutting.

No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation.
