Pre-development test trenching was carried out relating to a proposed residential development at lands to rear of 95 Upper Road, Greenisland, Co. Antrim.

A desktop study suggested that the proposed development is located within an area of high archaeological potential and therefore a total of 4 machine-cut test trenches, each 2m wide, were excavated within the boundaries of the proposed development.

Topsoil directly overlay natural subsoil with no archaeological remains proving to survive.
