The site of the old gaol in Ballymoney is being re-developed as a social housing scheme. The Jailhouse and associated Constable’s House are listed buildings and will be re-furbished and incorporated into the new scheme. A total of 2 test trenches were excavated across the new carparking area. The area had been subject to much disturbance in the recent past with the installation of service pipes. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered.
