Monitoring took place at the site of a proposed new Distillery and Visitor Centre at Powerscourt Estate, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow between September 2016 and 22 September 2017. The monitoring was carried out on behalf of Powerscourt Estate Ltd in fulfillment of a condition within a grant of permission from Wicklow County Council (Planning reference 15/1164).

All topsoil stripping and ground reduction was monitored within the footprint of the proposed development. No features or deposits of an archaeological nature were identified and no finds were recovered. The site of the proposed development contains the site of a saw mill and associated workshop located within the Powerscourt Estate, which are depicted on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map (1839) and the OS 25″ map 1885-7.
