This evaluation relates to a proposed residential development at lands c.55m south-west of No. 96 Omagh Road, Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone in response to a request for more information from DfC: Historic Environment Division under Planning Policy PPS6 BH3.
A desk-based study and site visit has confirmed that the proposed development is located within close proximity to TYR052:009, which is of possible prehistoric origin, and situated c.30m to the north-west.
An archaeological evaluation in the form of targeted test trenching within the boundaries of the site was carried out. No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of test trenching at the site.
