Monitoring of the construction stage of the Milestone and Inchivara windfarm (Cappawhite B) was undertaken in 2017 under licence number 16E0434. Testing of the same windfarm was undertaken in 2016 (Excavations Bulletin no. 2016:671).
Monitoring of ground works associated with the construction of Milestone and Inchivara wind farms, Milestone substation and other associated infrastructure was undertaken in compliance with the conditions of planning permission granted for the developments. Monitoring of topsoil removal on both sites over a period of approximately 3 months did not reveal any archaeological features, finds or deposits. Monitoring showed that the land within the site boundary had been subject to significant reclamation works, land management practices and agricultural activity during the post-medieval period.
