An archaeological assessment of the site was carried out to accompany a planning application to Meath County Council for construction of a dwelling house. The site lies in Belpere townland on the south side of the Hill of Tara.
Six trenches were excavated. Evidence for drainage channels was picked up in all of the trenches. One of the channels had a drain at the bottom filled with gravel, otherwise the channels appeared to have been simply cut into the subsoil. The field in which the cuttings were located is low-lying and badly drained.
Nothing of archaeological significance was observed during testing and no artefacts were recovered.
