On 6 September 2017, test trenches were excavated on a proposed site for three houses in compliance with a request for Further Information from Meath County Council. The development site is situated in Donore village, within the southern Buffer Zone of the Boyne Valley Archaeological Park/Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site and zoned A1 (residential) on the Land Use Zoning Objectives Map in the County Development Plan 2013-2019.
Test trenches excavated on the areas due to be disturbed recorded only natural subsoil of clay or stony clay, under a shallow covering of topsoil (max. depth 0.35m). Three sherds of modern glazed earthenware were recovered from the topsoil.
