Groundworks associated with the erection of a kitchen extension to the rear of a dwelling house were monitored. There are two recorded monuments marked in the vicinity of the development: the site of a church (ME025-036---) and a graveyard (ME025-036001-). Although the area of operation partially overlapped with the footprint of a medieval graveyard as indicated on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey mapping, no features or objects of archaeological interest were encountered during the monitoring. The site appears to have been comprehensively levelled and cleared at the time of the initial construction of the house in the early 1960s. However, remains of the graveyard seem to be present in adjacent properties.
