Mayo County Council constructed a cycle route for a distance of 450m across a greenfield area in proximity to archaeological features already identified through predevelopment testing. The cycle route was 3m wide and involved the removal of topsoil to a depth of 0.3m. No archaeology was identified. The licence was taken out in 2016 but due to a delay in carrying out the works it was extended to 2017.
