Monitoring of groundworks associated with the erection of a wind mast was undertaken in September 2017 within Oweninny bog in the townland of Shanvodinnaun, Co.Mayo. The excavation of 12 anchor point trenches was monitored. All trenches were generally 1m wide and the lengths varied from 3.5m to 4.5m. The trenches were excavated through peat and natural subsoil to an average depth of 2.5m. No archaeology was found.
