Test trenching was carried out at the site of a proposed development located within the townland of Aghnaskeagh, Mount Pleasant, Dundalk, Co. Louth.
The site is close to four recorded monuments, LH004-030001 a ringfort, LH004-030002 a souterrain located to the north of the proposed dwelling, LH004-031001 a ringfort and LH004-031002 a souterrain located to the east of the site.
In compliance with a planning condition made by Louth County Council, six archaeological test trenches were excavated within the site. No archaeological features or deposits were recorded.
