Archaeological monitoring was undertaken of groundworks associated with the development of flood alleviation works at Foynes Port, Foynes, Co. Limerick. The location of the works was in an area that was previously part of the inter‐tidal zone, but had been reclaimed from the sea in the mid-nineteenth century. The monitoring of the development was undertaken intermittently from October 2016 to January 2017. No archaeological features or artefacts were encountered during the monitoring of the project.
