Test trenching assisted by metal-detecting (licence 17R0029) was undertaken in advance of a proposed housing development within a green field site in the south-west outskirts of Adare. There are no recorded archaeological sites within 350m of the proposed development site. Trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development area and nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
