Testing followed an archaeological impact assessment, and seven trenches were opened by machine on a site proposed for a residential development east of the historic settlement of Adare. The site of recorded monument LI021-153, classified as an enclosure, was also tested. A geophysical survey by J.M. Leigh surveys (17R0130) was undertaken to inform the layout of the test trenches and a metal detection survey was carried out after the trenches had been opened (17R0135). Nothing of an archaeological nature was discovered, and the monument was found not to be archaeological in nature.
