Stage (iii) archaeological excavation was undertaken at Sallins 1 in advance of the M7 Naas–Newbridge Bypass Upgrade and the M7 Osberstown Interchange and R407 Sallins Bypass Scheme, Co. Kildare. Sallins 1 was discovered during Stage (i) archaeological testing and was assessed during Stage (ii) Pre-Excavation Services. Both were undertaken by Irish Archaeological Consultancy (IAC) Ltd.

Sallins 1 consisted of two partial spreads of decayed stone and charcoal which may indicate burnt mound-related activity in the surrounding area. No associated features such as troughs or pits were identified.
