Testing was carried out to assess the footprint of Phase 3 of the Kildare Village retail outlet along the periphery of the existing development. A total of eight trenches were excavated, with resulted in the identification of three potential areas of archaeological activity in the eastern part of the site. These have the potential to date to the medieval or post-medieval periods and may relate to agricultural activity within the area. Some evidence for possible quarrying within the eastern part of the site was also identified. In addition, 13 sherds of medieval pottery dating from the late 12th-14th centuries were recovered from the topsoil during the assessment.
