Test excavations were undertaken following a request for further information from Kerry County Council concerning a planning application to construct a golf academy shop, car parking, driving bays, putting greens, fencing and ancillary works at Ballinorig West, Tralee, Co. Kerry. The proposed development site encompasses a ringfort, KE029-128. A series of five linear test trenches (T1-T5), were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development along the southern and south-eastern limits of the site, all with negative results.
