Monitoring of advanced ground disturbance works for a proposed new Irish Water Service water main and upgraded Water Treatment facility was carried out on behalf of ARUP CE Ltd. The nature of these ground investigations included boreholes, test pits and slit trenches. These advance ground investigation works were necessary to identify the nature and location of existing water infrastructure, and to establish potential locations for the proposed new water infrastructure. No archaeological material was identified during the monitoring. All the site investigation works were situated in the area of an existing water tank facility, and a public road. Consequently, most of the works took place in areas of previously disturbed ground.
