Three trenches were opened through two recorded monuments in an area proposed for an extension to a quarry. Both appear to be of relatively recent origin, and appear to be the remains of old quarry workings. Nothing of an archaeological nature was discovered. A metal detection survey was also carried out (17R0235) and no metal of archaeological interest was found.
