Three small trial trenches were excavated at the former Magdalen Convent, Galway in advance of the redevelopment of the site as a women's refuge. Seven engineering trial pits were also monitored as part of the works. The site was seen to be highly disturbed through the construction of the various phases of the Magdalen Convent and the provision of services through the site over the years. There were no archaeological material discovered during the testing.
